Sizing for Practical Glamour

It's all about the bling!

The following will give you a general size guide for the pieces on the Practical Glamour web site.

If you have particularly large or small hands, for example, or are in any way concerned about sizing, do feel free to email me before placing your order.

Earring Measurement

Earring measurements are all from the top of the hook, so if you measure from your ear piercing, this is how long they will be.

Choosing a necklace length

It's easy if you have a necklace whose length you like - lay it out flat on a table and measure it for comparison to the lengths given for Practical Glamour necklaces.

If you don't have one of your own for comparison, you can do this:

1. Take a tape measure or a piece of string (even a shoelace if you are really desperate!)

2. Stand in front of a mirror

3. Hold the tape measure/string around your neck

4. Move it up and down to where you would like your necklace to sit

5. Mark this length on the string if necessary

6. Read the length off the tape measure or measure the length of the marked piece of string when laid flat on a table.

7. Use this length for comparison to the given length of your preferred Practical Glamour necklace.

Sizing for Bracelets

Bracelets in particular are styled with a variety of clasps which are in a range of sizes, so of course there will be some variation.  Remember, bracelets are easily lost if they are too large.

Bracelet measurements are all given without the clasp. So measure the length of a bracelet of your own which fits the way you like, and this will give you a reasonable indication of the measurement for your Practical Glamour bracelet.

If you don't have your own bracelet to measure, measure your wrist/hand at the point where you like your bracelet to sit using a piece of string etc, lay it flat and measure with a rule, tape measure or whatever (as per the necklace instructions above).

Then use this measurement to make sure that the bracelet you have chosen from Practical Glamour will fit you, and not fall off over your hand.

So, if your wrist measures 16cm at the spot where you like your bracelet to fit, and the measurement around the largest part of your hand is say 19 or 20cm, you could happily choose bracelets that are 16-17 cm.
